night pullups for a heavy weeing 5yo?

My ds is still in pullups at night and nowhere near being ready to lose them yet (still not reliable during the day!). But he wees so much that they leak every night. I've tried huggies and supermarket own brand ones (size 6). Are there any ones that are better than others? Or any other suggestions?

I'm hoping to move him into a big bed soon but I can't face all the extra washing. I've just brought waterproof protectors for the bed - even the duvet but it's going to be like sleeping in a plastic bag!

We found Dry Nites pyjama pants were fine for dd - who was also a very heavy wetter, and is only just dry at night at almost six and a half. They would leak once in a while, but were generally OK. We had previously used Tescos size 6 but had found them not terribly good - plus they have tapes, and she hated them being so much like nappies.

I have a similar problem with DS2 who is nearly 6 , who is in a big bed. We have a waterproof backing on the mattress cover. Then a bobbly woolly thing so it doesn't feel like a plastic bag. Then normal sheet and then small pram sheet where his bottom goes in the hope it'll catch the immediate overflow.
He has the Huggies Dry-Nites but we have also hit on the idea of putting a pair of pants over those as well so that they fit very snugly as some nights the dry-nites mysteriously fail and the bed is soaked while they remain almost untouched... Anyway this generally works quite well unless he manages to completely overflow.
I also stick him sleepily on the loo at about 10.30pm, but the timing can be a bit crucial! Sometimes by then it's too late...

Try Dri Nites which are specifically made for older children. My dcs were also never dry at night at 5, and about 1 in 10 takes all the way up to age 7 and a bed wetting alarm to getdry. It was just my luck I had both 2 out of 2

Thanks, I'll give the dry nites a go.
I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and move him to the big bed because I can easily see him still needing a nappy at 6+ and I need the cotbed for the lo.

Off to unpack all the mattress protectors....

Lidl pull ups are fab, much more absorbant than any other I have tried.
They also come in size 6 now.

Dri nites here as well.

Boots do great nappy booster pads at £2.99 per bag

I use them with DS4 who has SN and is a heavy wetter and rarely have leaks. You could try 2 inside the dry nites.
