How to give a 9 month old toast

I am terrified of choking and mostly spoon feed, but try to give finger food at least 3 or 4 times a week. This is how I do toast Blush (thumb for scale!)
Am I being ridiculous? How would be best to cut it?

What other finger foods are you doing?

You could try cucumber chunks (longer than hand so they can hold on to them with their fists).

Roasted or steamed carrots cut into chunks.

Apple pieces (my baby seems to prefer these with skin off).

Pasta - by nine months my baby could handle regular fusilli or penne, she shoves it in while making satisfied noises!

It can be scary at first but babies usually handle food really well, just avoid the choking hazards like whole grapes.

There’s a section on finger foods on the NHS website www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/solid-foods-weaning/ (you’ll have to scroll down a bit) - lots of examples and advice x
