What do you get a baby who has everything?

My 6mo ds is completely spoiled by his grandparents, which we aren't complaining about! But what can I get him for Christmas? He won't even have a clue what's going on or appreciate it and he's already got loads of stuff from them. But it would feel weird not getting him anything so what do I do?😂 he'll be 7.5 months by then

Have you seen the wooden animals by Lanka Kade? We love ours.

I'd just get one or two little bits then come the spring/summer buy some outdoor toys or a sit on rocker or similar. No point buying these "for christmas" and having them sat round the house for months.

I'd do a sensory basket (Pinterest has good ideas for this), and maybe a nice wooden push along walker with blocks (Ikea or John Lewis) which can grow with him over the next few months (blocks first, then pulling up, then walking).

Ooh or a Grimms Rainbow!

We have made the decision to buy our Christmas present for our 4 month old in January to fill in any gaps of presents after family presents.

Queenofthemadouse · 24/11/2020 15:49

Lanka kade animals are great! Why don't you put the money into an account and buy something with it in the spring? By then he might be walking and you'll want something fun for the summer

Fluandseptember · 24/11/2020 15:49

Nothing!
I gave DS a perfectly ripe and delicious pear one Christmas (little bit older than 7.5m but not much). Much pleasure and all used up immediately.

Maybe some push along toys and they love a musical set. I'm struggling with ds 10mo! Nightmare x

Our 6m old DD is going to be totally spoilt by the whole family plus she has two girl cousins who have everything and hand loads down to her! We’ve just bought her two small toys - a fisher price musical storybook and a battery octopus bubble machine (she loves the bubbles at baby sensory!) - I genuinely feel at 6months old she’ll have more fun playing with wrapping paper and looking at the Christmas lights than loads of pressies x

Terriblecreature · 25/11/2020 08:44

@ClaraLane omg my 20 month old loves the Lanka kade animals. We got him a couple at a local farm park on a day out. For Christmas he is getting loads of them in his stocking.

OP 7.5 month olds really don't need a lot. We went overboard last year with my then 9 month old as well did all of the family. I was still building xmas gifts from last year only a few weeks ago. I would get a few things but don't get a lot.

Clockstop · 25/11/2020 08:46

Wrap up something he already has, he will enjoy the paper

Audreyseyebrows · 25/11/2020 08:47

When in doubt buy a book.

SisterA · 25/11/2020 08:57

I bought my baby his next size up car seat for Christmas as there were good Black Friday deals and it would be something he’d need in the coming months. You’re right he won’t know what’s going on so might as well get something they’ll need? Car seats can be expensive!

Hellomoonstar · 25/11/2020 09:23

A nice colourful teething toy.

Disappointedkoala · 25/11/2020 09:45

Books.
Clothes.

They won't know so you might as well get something useful!

Thanks everyone there's some great suggestions! I love the idea of the wooden walker with blocks and bubble machine sounds fun
