Can you use carry cot for all sleeping

I’m considering the bugaboo bee and am wondering if I can use the carrycot for a few weeks after birth as the main cot and Moses basket all in one?
Thanks! Due January and clueless.

No. Most carrycots don’t have the appropriate airflow and are not recommended for long sleeping periods.

I did when mine were little but we bought a proper mattress for it (my youngest is now 17 so it was a long time ago!)

I should add it was a mamas and papas carrycot

I used mine with DD alot until she was old enough to sleep upstairs alone

Gin4thewin · 15/11/2020 22:50

But that was only downstairs sleeping once she outgrew her moses basket

Check the official website.

Uppababy state that their bassinet is safe to use overnight - because it has air vents underneath.

SpillingTheTea · 15/11/2020 23:26

No.
I know when I was using my carry cot it said not to be used for over night sleeping or any sleeping other than being asleep in the pram whilst out.

But then silver cross sell a carry cot stand so not sure if you can with some prams? I wouldn't risk it tbh.

Greenhairbrush · 15/11/2020 23:37

I think it varies brand to brand. We had a silver cross for dd and I’m sure that was safe for overnight sleeping.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 16/11/2020 03:31

I used my carrycot for all daytime naps. He grew out of it pretty quickly, which made me happy I didnt waste money on a moses basket

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 16/11/2020 03:48

Do you mean a carry cot? Or specifically the bugaboo one?
I know when I had DS Silvercross were the only brand that was safe for overnight sleeping. But that was 14 years ago

runoverhere · 16/11/2020 08:36

Thanks all. That’s a great help. I’ll look into other options.

I have a Joolz and the carrycot is safe for overnight sleeping.

I’m only planning on using it for supervised daytime sleeping though.

CrazyKitkatLady · 16/11/2020 10:32

The Uppababy one is safe for overnight sleeping and DD slept in it at night until she was about 3 months

Acornacorn · 17/11/2020 02:22

I used the carry cot for all sleeps until mine outgrew it. It was an icandy peach which is deemed safe for overnight sleeping. I didn’t see the point in a Moses basket too.

NelliePig · 17/11/2020 04:36

We have the uppababy and althought we never used it overnight, we have a tommee tippee sleepee moses basket and my almost 5 month old still fits in it with a fair bit of room (and she Is is 6 to 9 month clothing) but LOVE the pram, so could be a good option. However it's a £1000 give or take pram, so cheaper to buy the moses basket and a cheaper pram 🙈 x

NelliePig · 17/11/2020 04:38

Also it's only safe for overnight sleeping IF it's on the pram or on the stand which is even more money. Not safe on the floor I believe as then the vented base doesnt work properly!! So I'm not sure youd want a pram by your bed lol x
