My 7 month old - please help me!

Please help! Im looking for some experience, someone in the same boat or something.

My 7.5 month old seems to have had a personality transplant. Last week he was his usual self, happy to be left to play for a bit. Hes started getting up onto his hands and knees and rocking, but ultimately only pushing himself backwards. That said, he'd happily reverse himself around the room. He was generally easy going. Then about 4 days ago he woke up an entirely different baby. Wont be left, extremely agitated, wont nap, wont sleep. Ive tried calpol, ibuprufen and ambesol in case of teething with varying degrees of success - often they make no difference to his mood whatsoever. Is this is known 7 month old phase? Does anyone have any insight into whats going on?

@Letsallscreamatthesistene, I have a 10 month old and he went through a phase of hating being left at all, it was really hard! I think separation anxiety kicks in properly around that age? He still can't stand to actually see people leave, but it has gotten better.

Also he could be frustrated with trying to work out getting moving? Around 8 months mine was a nightmare, he didn't want to do anything except try to crawl, he kept trying and trying and it took him weeks to get there. But once he was off, he was much happier... Although nappy changes since then have become, ahem, 'interesting' shall we say 😂😕

Echoing Fivebyfive2, my DD was a right grump until she learnt to crawl, just so frustrated. She used to practice in her sleep as well which was exhausting. She was perfectly happy when she could get around under her own steam.

I can understand the grumpiness, but the lack of sleep?! Hes developed an of even being put down in his cot yet wont be held whilst he sleeps. I drove around for 4 hours today just to get an hours nap out of him. Really hope this is short lived phase.

Maybe the 8-10 month regression is kicking in? Also apparently they sleep worse when in the middle of learning a new skill?

I had assumed that may be it. I do also suspect teething too after I tried fridge cold teething ring this evening 😪

Sleep was so linked to development for my DD - I think it's really easy to simplify baby sleep that we assume if they are fed, dry and warm they should sleep but she would always sleep terribly when going through a development leap. That said, I'm crap at sleeping if I'm trying to solve an issue or a problem so why would my daughter be different? Hope the situation improves soon. Brew
