Hi
I'm having a bit of a brain freeze and just wondering if people can give me some ideas of what foods other than breakfast I can hide formula in? He's had 4oz since his 4:10am bottle and I've hidden 4oz in his breakfast he just doesn't seem to want it in the day at all? (will have 5-7oz morning and bedtime no problem)
Thanks in Advance 🥰 xx

Hmmm.

Can you give a little more info? How old? What's eating like? Why are you needing to do that?

Porridge
Mashed potato
Mashed veg
Rice pudding (baby version)
Bread pudding (baby version)
Macaroni cheese

At that age around 20oz is recommended inclusive of what ls in food. Includes cheese, yoghurt, milk in cereal, etc

steppemum · 27/10/2020 16:01

What is it that you are worried about?
Not enough calcium?
Not enough vitamins?
Not enough liquid?
Not enough calories?

I think that even by asking those questions it is obvious that you can provide all of those in other ways. He is drinking milk morning and evening, and I presume he is eating during the day, so I would find other ways of providing what is missing.
It is a while since I had a 9 month old, but if these are still allowed, how about fromage frais, cheese, butter, cream cheese etc

icedaisy · 27/10/2020 16:02

Yeah 20 ounce. So 5ish first thing, 5ish last thing, and he's had another 8. Plus whatever in food, so sounds good.

Weetabix.

Add a small amount of sugar for flavouring if he really rejects it

dementedpixie · 27/10/2020 16:05

Or fruit puree or some flavoured yoghurt is also nice in weetabix/porridge/ready brek

mindutopia · 27/10/2020 16:05

That all sounds fine. I wouldn't be hiding it in anything. He doesn't need extra formula. I would offer morning and bedtime bottles and on demand whenever he wants it during the day, but then plenty of food. You can also add in a multivitamin if he is consistently dropping milk feeds over the next few weeks.

No 9mo should be getting sugar added to their food.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 27/10/2020 16:06

Natural yoghurt is another good way of sneaking it in. It does make it a bit runny though, but if you fork mash some berries or banana up it makes it thicker

I’m talking about a very small amount

Wow thanks all for the replies 🥰 suppose I'm conscious of 'formula should be his main source of nutrition' but he really just doesn't want it 🤦‍♀️I give him x2 no added sugar petit filous yogurts a day and also offer cream cheese/normal cheese, I think he would love natural Yogurt with banana mashed in will give that a try :) he tends to favour sweeter tastes as I'm sure most babies do but try to offer him other types of veg aswell :) xx
