Hi just wanted to speak to someone about my sons teeth. His teeth are really badly rotted this started since he was about 1 years old but has got worse over time. The only option left seems to be to get them removed i wanted to know is it impossible for them to get caps on there teeth to save the place for there adult teeth. Im worried getting his front 4 teeth removed wont leave a place for adult teeth causing terrible adult teeth. I am also worried about how he will eat and talk with the front 4 teeth missing. Not sure if i should hold of getting them removed as they are not causing him pain but they look dreadful his other 3 older sibling have perfect teeth. I don't know if it was the night time bottle that caused his teeth to get so bad but that stopped years ago. Any help advice would be much appreciated

Take him to see a dentist. How on earth have you let it get so bad!? He must be in agony if all his teeth are rotten.

No he cant have caps on his front teeth, if they are very decayed theyve got to come out

Im assuming hes 5 or less if its his front teeth? You clearly arent that concerned about him losing his teeth

Has he seen a dentist? Could be an issue with his enamel or could be what he is eating/ drinking

Sounds like typical bottle caries.
(Brown tiny stumps rotted either to look like apple cores or flush with gum)
These cannot be capped, and unfortunately if he is very young it could affect the eruption of adult teeth coming through rather higgldy.
Night time bottle and high sugar diet has caused this.
May not be in pain now, but will undoubtedly lead to infection and abscesses forming, he needs to be taken to the dentist ASAP.

Its not necessarily about letting them get that bad .
My son has a good diet teeth brushed twice a day at least but has very week enamel on his teeth due to being born very premature . Sometimes it's not always the parents fault you know

Wow didn't know i’d be judged so much getting a bit of advice. Without even asking if i’ve took him dentist! Ive been seeing dentist since he was 1 but she assumed it was bottle but i just Believe his teeth were weak to begin with. Also before lockdown he was meant to have them taken out but then lock down happened but just the dentist always puts me into minds saying that his adult teeth wont have a a place to grow into so after each appointment im left in double minds. And if i wasn't concerned i wouldn't be here asking for advice! Its just i do what i can from my side brush his teeth twice daily dont let him rinse mouth etc.

Either he had a bottle at night or not OP. Having a bottle at night, or a bottle regularly once their teeth are in causes decay as youve described.

Teeth occasionally have hypoplasia/are hypomineralised, this makes them weak and more prone to decay. However this is an obvious condition that a dentist would pick up on. If the dentist thinks its the bottle then they obviously dont think its MIH

Leaving heavily decayed teeth in just risks infection and abscesses. Yes his adult teeth may be crooked but Id rather crooked teeth than sepsis.

There really isnt a good solution which is why prevention is very important, the time to avoid crooked teeth was before they got to the point of extraction. Dentists dont talk about toothbrushing and diet for fun, its because tooth loss is actually quite hard to manage in the long run, and leads to other consequences
