Hi.

I am a nursery nure working at a local day nursery Anyway the other day we had an inclusion meeting discussing the different ways/methods we could use/adopt at the setting to make it inclusive for all.

Anyway my quick question is - what would you like to see within a preschool/nursery/school which would make you/your child feel more at home, or valued.

When I looked around all we seemed to have was the poster of hello which I'm sure we've all seen

I am only asking as a way of making our nursery a more welcoming environment - so any ideas gratefully receieved.

I don't understand your post.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound rude just then. There's a possibility that your post was unanswered because I am not the only one not to understand.

books in other languages in each room would help I'm sure.
But I guess staff trained in a particular language that is prevalent in a certain area would definitely help.

In my dd1's nursery school there are many children who speak different languages. When it's the birthday of one of the children, they all sing 'happy birthday' in that child's language.

DD1 came home singing 'happy birthday' in spanish
