New dad, need help getting power!

Hi guys, this is my first post so be gentle. I have 2 boys who are 13 months and have tried to make a playroom as safe as possible, but I need some help. I attached a gate, radiator cover and even stuck a hook on the door to hold it open. My issue is that I have cameras on shelves - which need power, but the sockets are down in the wall. Has anyone found a solution to not having cables dangling? Attached some photos.

If you aren't fussed by aesthetics you can get plastic trunking for electrical cables.

I'm not sure how easily it would repeatedly clip and unclip though. It is used by electricians when it isn't possible to run electrical cabling inside the wall.

I second the trunking. We have trunking for our TVs in our living room and bedroom and they don't bother us at all. Smile

Easiest way, trunking. Also put something over the sockets so they cannot play with the plugs.

More involved, feed camera wires through into the loft. You can spur a socket off a lighting ring (there should be loads up there for each room) unless you live in a flat Grin

Or have a socket put up high on the wall, spur off the socket already in the room, have the cables run vertically in the wall. Long term would this be an issue having a socket up near the ceiling?

I am not an electrician, but I have put cables through a loft (Ethernet for teen boys's gaming computers) and we had a socket off a lighting ring in the last house done by an electrician.

I meant if you lived in a flat you might not have a loft.

I our kitchen backs onto the room and we had an unused socket against the wall. I ended up cutting a hole in the boys room where the shelf was and fed the plug from an extension cord down to the plug in the kitchen via another hole. I plastered it all up and with some sanding when I'm next off work should turn out OK. I don't have access to a loft at the moment, that would have been my first point of call. I guess it's like parenting, you learn stuff as you go! I don't want to be one of these people who just calls someone in without having a bash :P

You've plastered an extension lead into the wall? It might be an idea to check with an electrician that this wouldn't pose a fire risk. Extension leads are fire risks at the best of times.
I'm all for giving things a try but there's a reason all work on electrics have to be completed by a qualified electrician
