Hello all! My 9 month old is pulling herself up onto her feet and so it seems like the right time to get her going on a walker. I have a small, cheapie one here, but its not sturdy enough as even with the wheels locked it keeps sliding forward when she pulls herself up on it and I foresee a faceplant before long! Any suggestions for good sturdy walkers?

My understanding is that walkers are very dangerous and not recommended. I never got one for DC for this reason. Why not let your DD get there in her own time?

Second not using one. Just let them cruise around the furniture. Much more stable.

There are walking aid things with wheels..kinda like a baby Zimmer frame. These are good. All pretty standard.

Dont buy an actual walker where baby is in it on tip toes moving around. They can delay walking and are actually dangerous and lead to so many accidents. In Canada they have been banned and you get get fined for buying and selling second hand ones.

When I said a walker, I meant one of the zimmer frame types. I never considered the "sit in" ones for the reasons you guys have said. I was just looking for a little aid for her to stand and toddle with.

Neither of my girls could manage to use them until after they could walk. Am not convinced they are worth it.

We've had 2 different ones (both plastic) and I would say they are pretty much the same. My boys loved them, my dd, not at all. I would definitely would look on your local selling sites for a cheap second hand one just in case your toddler isn't interested.

We got a fisher price one from the charity shop for a couple of quid. There's a vtech one that seems to be at every baby group or soft play that we went to that DD liked too. They don't use them for long really so probably worth looking on FB marketplace or in charity shops.
