hey! I joined slimming world on Wednesday night and was disgusted in myself when I stood on those scales, I just came home and started crying I don't know how I have let myself get like this! I need to lose 6 stone to get to a healthy weight, I'm 5ft 2 so don't carry weight well at all
has anyone lost 6 stone on SW how long did it take yous to achieve? I don't want to set the bar to high and give myself a unrealistic time frame

Losing 6 stone is absolutely doable. No idea about SW though sorry.

You might want to move this to weight loss.

My mil did but I personally didn’t get on with sw

What's your current diet like?

Do you exercise?

My sister and cousin lost 5st and 12st respectively on SW. I've been doing a combination of SW and Cc and working out for around month and have lost just over a stone. I've decided it's moving too quick so have added more calories.

The biggest issue appears to be keeping the weight off. If you back to eating the way you do now when you've lost the weight you'll gain it back again. My sister is now heavier than ever and my cousin put back on around 6st.

I like the idea of my gyms way of keeping to plan when you reach target is to have one off plan meal a week. One off plan day a month and one off plan week every two months. It means you never have to deprive yourself and you plan your off plan days/weeks for special occasions and holidays. I think it's a really sensible way of keeping the plan sustainable long term. I'm hoping to keep the weight off using that technique once I reach target (I have way more than 6st to loose fwiw).

@RaspberryHartleys
My diet before slimming world wasn't very good tbh, I did tend to pig out quite a lot,
I don't go to the gym ect, I have a 6 month old so go an hour sometimes 2 hour long walk every day if the weathers dry with the pram

@Frequency
I have heard a lot of story's of people gaining weight back once they reached there goal, I'm trying to look at it as a life style change, the idea you have sounds great so it does once I reach my goal I will be doing the same type of thing,

If you have the space/cash get a treadmill. There seems to be loads on Facebook marketplace atm. I got one two weeks ago and it's made a massive difference to the calories I burn. You can take quick walks while baby is napping. The calories will add up in no time.

Omg me too and I have a baby similar age. Let's help each other.

lockdownmumma123 · 03/10/2020 15:06

@Couldntthinkofausername24
Yeah we should do! Have you joined SW

Definitely agree to having a way to exercise at home if you can. Since lockdown I've been watching Netflix an hour a day while cycling on an exercise bike, alongside doing daily DDPYoga using an app on my phone.

Lost six and a half stone in two years alongside calorie counting (although the last half a stone has taken ages and been massively slowed by the banana bread and booze of pandemic life.

Couldntthinkofausername24 · 03/10/2020 15:51

@lockdownmumma123 no weight watchers but I'm definitely available for inspiration and encouragement when the goong gets tough x

SilverYellow · 03/10/2020 15:54

I started at 231lbs and I'm now 187lbs. I need to lose exactly six stone, I'm just over half way there. I have 40lbs left to go.

It's definitely possible.. I started in June, and it hasn't been easy but I feel so much better, and I'm no longer classed as 'obese'.

Teacaketotty · 03/10/2020 16:10

It’s absolutely doable!

My DD is 14 months now and I’ve lost just over 6 stone in about 1 year. I don’t follow SW though - I do 16/8 fasting and maintaining now.

Good luck x
