Ellas house hemp nappy (old style)

A friend of mine saw i was using washables so gave me 2 ellas house nappies that she'd been given second hand years ago for her lo but never used. She said there was meant to be a liner with it but she'd lost them. I've used bumhuggers before but never the normal hemp one so am not sure whether she meant a booster or a liner, and she didn't remember what it was like to be able to tell me.
The nappy itself is very thin (seems like 2 layers of hemp) and doesnt have any extra padding through the gusset so i would think there should be a booster with it but am not sure as i know the Ellas House are meant to be very slim anyway.
Has anyone used these and if so can you tell me if i need to get boosters to go with them?

i use the hemp ones sometimes, they look pretty slim on which is one thing i like about them. i put a booster and liner in (you can buy one which is both, maybe that's what your friend meant? ) but they were good in the early days without a booster for those tiny newborn moments

I use these full time. Used pretty much everything out there and these work best for me - good absorbancy and slim fitting so no need to buy 3 sizes bigger .

I boost mine with a tesco value microfibre cloth folded into three. The microfibre cloths are 89p for 3 so nice and cheap.

You can get EH hemp boosters too - I have a few but just tend to stick with the cloths.

Once well washed hemp is V absorbant so they don't need to be thick to work. I never get mine new as they seem to take forever to get to a decent absorbancy. If you are worried about the hemp being a bit rough against the skin the microfibre cloth keeps the softness where it counts

Downside is they take a while to line dry.
