Toddler Poo

Sorry for the poo thread but I can't find what I'm looking for online.
My DS is 14 months old and has never had a solid poo. It's always a mushier kind of texture.
Spoke to someone else who suggested he should be having solid poos now so slightly worried.
He's my first child so I'm not sure what is normal and what isn't. He goes 3-4 times a day.
TIA and sorry for the gross thread just can't find answers anywhere.

I think it's a big lie that toddlers have solid poos. My DS is 2 and they still aren't solid, although he's potty trained so they're not being squished in a nappy anymore. Friends with toddlers have said the same, that they were expecting solid poo and it never happened. I think what you're describing sounds quite normal.

Thank you for your reply. That's reassured me so thank you

There's also a thing called toddler diarrhoea, which is not linked to illness, like most diarrhoea, but is basically mushy poop up until they're past the toddler stage. If you Google it you can find sooner ideas of foods to avoid to try to improve the situation. Grapes, raisins, wholegrain foods and raw veg seem to make things worse for mine.

I think it was the idea of cloth nappies that made me think most kids must have solid poo. I planned to use them, and just shake solids into the toilet, but mine poop like thick soup until they're well out of nappies. I'm not dealing with that mess in a washing machine! Sorry planet...
