Bugaboo vs Baby Jogger gt2, advice please!?

Hello, looking for some help regarding prams please. I'm now 20 weeks and starting to think about what pram to get for our first wee baby. I've narrowed it down to 2, I work with children so I'm quite knowledgeable about some aspects but looking for honest reviews and experiences.
The two prams were between are the bugaboo cameleon and the baby jogger Gt2. I've been to see both and really like both for quite different reasons. For me, bugaboo is more my choice for what looks nice, slightly more traditional and is still not too heavy. What I worry about is it not being very long lasting for baby, especially because me and my partner are very tall so expecting a long baby but apart from that I love it. With the baby jogger, I feel like it's such a practical choice and do think it will be really long lasting. We would add the carry cot but do feel this can look a bit odd maybe?
Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks. X

Baby Jogger! I had one for DS and I loved it. My main criteria for baby stuff was whether I could use something with one hand (because I always had a baby in the other). I could do most things one-handed with this. I once got on a bus and had to fold it while the bus pulled away holding DS the entire time. Boom. No problem.
I just had a Google of the bugaboo. Looks faffy, definitely not a one-hander!

P. S. DS is now 10 and the baby jogger had just come out. They are probably even better now.

I have a bugaboo cameleon and love it. It's heavier than the baby jogger (friend had one) and you have to fold it and take the wheel off to get it in the car, but it's easy to push including one handed and robust. I bought it second hand (nearly new) and it has lasted two children so far and I plan to sell it on when I'm finished with it, it's a workhorse. My friend's baby jogger broke as the brakes failed, but not sure if that is usual. I wouldn't buy a bugaboo new, they are very expensive and the resale value for the cameleon is lower now (since the bugaboo fox came out). If you decide you want one, I would get it second hand then move on to the baby jogger when they get bigger if needed. They are on ebay for between £50 and £150/200 at the moment. They last for ages and you can change the bearings in the wheels if they start to become difficult to push, there are videos on Youtube with instructions on how, the bearings are available on ebay cheaply too. Don't buy the footmuffs new either, they are extortionate. Ebay is your friend, they are £10-25 versus £80-100 new.

I used the cameleon for a toddler too, it doesn't last until 3/4 though (it says 0-4 years), I used it until 3 for big trips. Front facing is useful if you have a little one who likes to snack in the pram (this is another reason to buy second hand footmuffs, they get covered in food). Although you may not need it past two, some toddlers love to walk and you may want to switch to a fold up or umbrella buggy if you use the car a lot and they love walking.

Sorry, meant facing you is great for snacking toddlers so you can keep an eye on them whilst they eat.

Every pram/pushchair has pros and cons, it's about picking the right one for you. Cameleons are great on foot, not so great for the car.

I’ve used both. The baby jogger was the best by far. Me and DH are tall and the bugaboo didn’t really fit us. It was also so much more cumbersome, compared to the baby jogger.

I know some babies like carry cots but both of mine hated being in one with a passion. They also grew out of them very quickly. So my advice is don’t base your pram choice around the carry cot part.

Babyjogger. My child is 7. I've still got it and she can still fit in it comfortably. Miss that pushchair

We have the baby jogger and love it. Never bothered with the carrycot and both my babies slept really well in it. The hood is so big you never really need a rain cover and the joy of being able to close it one handed and throw it into the boot in the pouring rain is brilliant. My 4 yo still sits in it sometimes, it’s been loaded up with kids and bikes and still going strong. And as a pp said you can steer it one handed easily.

I LOVED our Baby Jogger. Not a bad word to say about it!
