What to do with baby after feed

This may be a silly question but I’m a first time mum and getting to grips with it all. What do I do with my 5 week old when he is wide awake still after a feed? He suffers from reflux so I’m constantly worried about moving him around too much after a feed. I keep him upright but he starts to wiggle and squirm and get agitated. I put him on my shoulder and walk around rocking him but he fusses with me (smells the milk I guess) he only seems to be soothed by my mum, MIL, husband and others. I’ve got a play mat which I put him down on and he enjoys for about 10 minutes before getting agitated again. What else can I do to entertain him so that he eventually drops off to sleep?

Any really. They don’t need much at 5 weeks - I think with mine I’d feed, put on play gym, bouncy a bit in bouncy chair and then it was time for another nap. Bouncy chairs are good for reflux too as they are relatively upright. Also put them in the pram for some fresh air? Ah good times! X

Bouncy chair. Especially with reflux. We had one that vibrated and played music and had a light show. It was 2nd hand with washable covers. It was frankly a bit trippy but a godsend.

If chair doesn't work you could also try carrier. My daughter was stuck to me like velcro at that age - I found the moby wrap to be very comfy she only came out for feeds and nappy changes! I just got on with housework and she would drop off in her own time.

In terms of chair recs I have one very similar to this...

My daughter has gone in it from birth as did my son and he still sits in it now at nearly 3. Most used baby item!

It doesn't move automatically but it's just a great chair.

Could you prop him up with cushions in a play gym? Another vote for a bouncy chair, we had one with toys that hung down and played music, our DD used to like just sitting and looking at the dangly things at that age.

Pop him in a sling?
