I'm a long time out of the baby stage but I need to buy some things for a friend's baby.

Where do you recommend I go ? If you could let me know why you recommend it that would be great so I am see if it suits my needs.

Thank you people of MN !

Cheap - tu at sainsburys
Middle - next
£££ - boden

Love all of the above as they seem true to size, don't shrink & wash well in general and are all super cute

Sweetpea84 · 21/09/2020 19:17

H&M

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/09/2020 19:18

Next do the cutest stuff that washes and lasts well imo

I'm currently 29 weeks with baby number 2 and have got things from Next, M&S, Mamas and Papas and Jojo Maman Bebe...all are completely adorable!

lambo88 · 21/09/2020 19:32

Next, zara, m&s, Sainsbury's, mamas and papas xx

frillseeking · 21/09/2020 19:37

Next is reasonably priced and great quality and caters to a variety of styles. Zara is great for a more modern look but again great prices and washes well. H&M has nice stuff and is cheap but the quality can be poor. The supermarkets have some great bits but you have to be lucky and look at the right time as the gems go quickly. Childrensalon have some lovely designer pieces if you want to spend a bit more or get something special

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 22/09/2020 07:12

Next and M+S have a really good range and is reasonably priced. Supermarket stuff is also good. H+M have some good stuff, but you have to hunt for it. Going against the grain, I actually really dont like JoJo Maman Bebe. I think its really overpriced for what it is. Theres a really good second hand website that ive got a few bits from called Little Foxies Preloved.

COS2102 · 22/09/2020 08:26

Depending on how much you were looking to spend, Blade & Rose, Fred & Noah and Claybear are online sellers who each have a different kind of look but all are super cute! If you're looking to spend less money, I'm currently loving a lot of clothes on offer at Sainsburys 😊

PolarBearStrength · 22/09/2020 08:32

Sainsbury’s and Asda do great basic bits. M&S for a better quality. Next never really have much I like. I buy a fair few bits from Etsy too - think colourful harems and rompers.

peachypetite · 22/09/2020 08:35

Next, M&S, tu

avocadotofu · 22/09/2020 11:44

I like Boden and JoJo personally.

Xyzzzzz · 22/09/2020 11:50

H&M no issues washing it, same with George and next.

Amrythings · 22/09/2020 11:57

People keep giving me Next vouchers for DS, everything has been nice and washed well but caveat that if your friend's little one is long of back or feet buy sleepsuits a size up. DS was busting the feet out of all his lovely sleepsuits long before they stopped fitting elsewhere.

Otherwise, H&M, M&S and Sainsbury's have all had lovely stuff (his unofficial godmother works in Sainsbury's and her staff discount is getting a great workout on their Gruffalo stuff!)

If you're in NI or Ireland, Dunnes have gorgeous stuff at the minute.

BikeRunSki · 22/09/2020 12:16

Vote for all of the above, and Boots

Napqueen1234 · 22/09/2020 12:21

I would probably give vouchers or something practical as we got so many clothes for our first DC a lot of which were not to my taste and they never ended up wearing!

FolkSongSweet · 24/09/2020 10:48

I hate Jojo clothes - they are so sexist/gendered.

We had mostly John Lewis for DS which was good, but I’m pregnant again and going to get more from Next this time. The few things DS had from there were really soft and washed well. I’ve found the selections in store can be very gendered (a bug bear of mine!) but they have a much bigger range online with all styles.

Squ1ggle · 24/09/2020 11:14

Frugi is gorgeous. relatively expensive but its GOTS cotton, washes great and has excellent resale value

PollyPocket245 · 24/09/2020 12:23

Next are great! Lovely designs and they wash really well. They also do baby grows with zips which are a lifesaver when changing nappies at 3am!
