What can I do with 25 Kushie nappies?????

I have 25 all-in-one Kushies which I bought for ds and used for the first 5 months before switching to Totsbots.

I found the Kushies to be total and utter rubbish; continually leaking and just no absorbancy.

They're in really good condition and I'd love to get at least some money back on them.

BUT they are soooo truly awful to use I would feel dishonest taking money for them. Any ideas? What else could I use them for? Does anyone want them for nowt???

wouldn't there be some takers on e-bay? all sorts of 'rubbish' is sold there!!
I am wading through all the cloth nappy info at the moment, that's another strike against Kushies......!

eefs · 18/10/2004 17:34

you'll get your money back on ebay - well some at least.
You're not being dishonest if you describe then accurately - "used for 5 months, switched to different nappy system, etc etc". try selling them in batches of 5 (the way they're sold in the first place)

misdee · 18/10/2004 17:43

some poeple love kushies. i hated them. only tried the 5 pack with a waterproof wrap, but ended up giving them to charity. put me off till i had dd2.

(didnt have internet back then, now i'm converted)

saying that, have got a couple of 2nd hand kushies for dd2 and they seem ok on her.

muddaofsuburbia · 18/10/2004 18:09

Hmmm will ponder about selling them after all and ignore pangs of guilt

I've heard that some brands fit some bodyshapes better and perhaps these do not suit your son. I've tried Kushie's for my DD but they leaked - sticking to terries now as they can be folded to fit her properly. Why not put your Kushie's on ebay, someone else may be very pleased with them.

throckenholt · 19/10/2004 19:33

sell them on ebay - they seem to go really well there. We found them useless as well . But they suit some people.

mammya · 19/10/2004 19:56

You could also try selling them on The Nappy Lady's website , I have sold some kooshies there.

Tissy · 19/10/2004 20:23

you could also try the UK Parents cloth nappy buy and sell board. Some people like Kooshies, though like you, having tried Tots, I can't understand why! they never suited my dd!

Good luck.

meysey · 22/10/2004 12:48

Don't feel guilty as it is all about body shape. My friends and relatives tried each others' nappies out and it was different for every baby Some people love Kushies. DS1s legs were too skinny. DS2 would probably have been fine but we had a different brand by then.

throckenholt · 22/10/2004 12:51

kushie don't seem to seel so well on UKP - but for some reason they seem to go well on ebay.

katzguk · 22/10/2004 13:33

i would also add to the sell em possie!! i tried kushies but like others they leaked but my friend swears by them! rarely has problems!

i also tried the motherease one size nappies and agian didn't get on with them and happily sold them on because i know others do use them with no problems.

i ended up with tots bots by the way

pixiefish · 22/10/2004 14:13

Sell them- just had a quick look on ebay and \link{http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26269&item=4331105040&rd=1\here's one example] they seem to be selling- just don't give your opinion on them- do as eefs says

pixiefish · 22/10/2004 14:14

here it is messed that link up

muddaofsuburbia · 22/10/2004 14:17

Thanks for that link Pixiefish - the description looks like it's been copied from a catalogue so I could definitely do that with a clear conscience.

I've never used Ebay though. Is it a real pain to set up PayPal etc, or is it ok to accept cheques?

OP posts:
katzguk · 22/10/2004 14:41

if your not going to sell regularly on their then except cheques only, paypal costs you money! it wouldn't and doesn't put me off.

throckenholt · 22/10/2004 14:46

don't bother with paypal - just have them send you a cheque or do a bank transfer.

pixiefish · 22/10/2004 14:54

You have to log a creidt card with ebay now when you open an account. They will bill you the ebay fees etc on the credit card. Ebay is a funny animal- to get decent prices you need to have a decent feedback but then again the way to get good feedback is to sell/buy. Start an account with them now. I sell all sorts of stuff on eBay.
When dd has finished with something i can see no point storing it for years so I sell it and she gets the dosh in her bank account. I even sell some clothes of hers that are in good condition. There's a tutorial on ebay- well worth doing so that you can find all the ins and outs.
Just start selling and you'll love it.
If you want to CAT me I'll willingly guide you through your first transaction as it can seem daunting.

muddaofsuburbia · 22/10/2004 14:56

Thanks everyone - you're all lovely! Will definitely consider ebay now we could do with the extra dosh at the moment (see house selling thread! )
