The first six months were fine. Now they are so heavy I really can't be bothered babycarrying much anymore when I'm tired (all the time), the eldest runs off, there's so much stuff to take out, the youngest still wakes at least three times a night...
I've just spent a stupid amount on a buggy board which will hopefully be money well spent in terms of sanity...

It's one of those days. I drove for a long time just to get a break as strapped into a seat they can make no mischief and often fall asleep.

Please share what works for you? I need help!

Double buggy!

SendHelp30 · 12/09/2020 16:56

Also a good routine so they nap in sync! My boys go down for 2 hours at the same time every afternoon. Lifesaver!

Double buggy a must.

Ugh I had ruled out a double buggy due to all the narrow pavements around here. Any recommendations for a cheap but good one in front one behind for big babies?

Nap syncing yes a definite goal Grin

Joie do a tandem one that my SIL has that she loves! I would be lost without my double, it’ll save you!!

SendHelp30 · 12/09/2020 17:11

I was coming on to say not to buy a double buggy! Backpack for the toddler pushchair/pram for the baby.

HarryHarry1 · 12/09/2020 17:26

I also spent a stupid amount on a buggy board and he refuses to go on it! We have 2 double pushchairs now - a lightweight side by side one and a heavier in-line one.

I know you say you don’t want to babywear anymore but honestly the baby carrier is the only way to go when you need your hands free to keep the toddler safe or do anything around the house. We also got a little playpen thing to put them in to keep them out of the way when we’re hoovering or whatever.

Recently I’ve been making a big effort to teach the older one how to do things for himself which is really helping.

HarryHarry1 · 12/09/2020 17:27

Oh and carry the baby on your back when you put them in the baby carrier. You’ll be able to do almost anything then!

ncqtime · 12/09/2020 17:37

Thanks for the buggy recommendation looks good it's on my wish list :)

As for baby carrying it's great! But sometimes I don't want the toddler pulling my hair or snotting all over my back or to be able to pee without faffing about pulling my trousers down from under the waistband! And some days I'm so tired my legs just feel like jelly :(

I meant put the little one on your back 🙂

SendHelp30 · 12/09/2020 19:51

@ncqtime no problem! It’s so much easier with a tandem.
Definitely try and get them napping at the same time too! Gives you a break. I either nap for half hour if it was a bad night or just watch some crap on tv and then potter around with a bit of cleaning and prepare dinner. I make sure our mornings are busy until say 1130 ish and then set off home, they both fall asleep in the car so carry them into their beds and that’s it until 2-2.30!

ncqtime · 12/09/2020 20:07

Ah @HarryHarry1 I've not tried this yet maybe tomorrow as dp is around

@SendHelp30 sounds blissful and definitely worth a try :)

Yes double buggy definitely, make sure that you pick one that will be stable if your toddler gets out, whilst baby is still in the buggy, I brought the Mountain Buggy and it was brilliant.

Having two under two is hard work with but lots of positives I found were, no jealousy, if we had a rough night with the baby we didn’t need to get anywhere the next day. Tv programmes & toys they both liked. You haven’t forgotten the baby stage etc.

My two DS’ are 19 & 17 now they are best friends. Enjoy OP, it flies.

SendHelp30 · 12/09/2020 20:24

@Roselilly36 I hope my boys will be best friends when they’re teens! They idolise each other now, most of the time, but they’re 2 and 1 so a long way to go!
