Rough play, was fil a little bit too rough?

Hi everyone, my little girl is 7 months in 4 days. . I'm alright with holding her in the air, bringing her down to people faces to play and such. Ive always done it at a slowish speed.

When she only just started holding her head up (she was still wobbly and would get tierd) the fil put his hands under her chest and legs and pushed her forward in the air. It was pretty rough and her head went back and she didn't look impressed. A friend in the room who had a baby jumped up and went omg that made me jump.. i mean geez made me jump too, I stood up instantly and my heart was pounding. I havnt seen him much because lockdown and It only happened once so I got over it. But he did it again last week 😬 although she can confidently hold her head up the force he did it at her head went back as if it would if you were on a roller coaster. is this too rough? Im seeing them this weekend and if it happens again I will tell him no but I dont want to overreact if this is a normal thing and its nothing tk worry about. This is my first and before her ive had no expeirience with babiwa so this could just me being a bit over dramatic 😄

I would just say be careful, she still doesn't have complete strength in her neck yet. If that doesn't work then you will have to be more forceful, but he shouldn't take it the wrong way if you mention it without making it a big deal.

Definitely mention it as PP said. If your feel worried it's probably for a reason. Better safe than sorry with little baby's.

With nothing but kindness intended, you don’t need strangers from the internet to give you an opinion on this. It makes you uncomfortable so say so...”Oh, FIL, I’m not comfortable with that. Let’s not.” You might get a bit of “why”, spoilsport accusations, attempts to make you justify...but no explanation is necessary.

Your child is just 7 months and the sooner you learn to go with your gut and be assertive in advocating for your child, confident that you know your child best, the better.

Totally agree with @Aspergallus you need to be assertive.

I love your comment @Aspergallus I needed to read that. My Dad gets a bit carried away bouncing my 8 week old baby and I struggle to say I’m not happy with it.

@Itsnoteasyfeelingqueasy

Thank you. It’s all so much easier once you trust yourself.
