Do baby climbers stop being climbers??

My 11 month old loves to climb. He's relentless. Anything & everything. Is there a stage when this will stop? When he's walking perhaps?

Considering a climbing frame for him but will that encourage him to do it more?

Any advice appreciated. TIA.

Nope. Mine is 8 now and still a frequent flier at A&E

And don't let them do it on Xmas Eve

New Years Eve just after guests arrived here!

And just before her sister’s birthday party
And just before we were due to go to big 5 November fireworks display

Definite theme. Hmm Taken years off my life.

I learnt early on not to 'save' her. If she was falling, she would generally fall better than I I grabbed her. If I grabbed her arm she would invariable swing into the furniture or fall funny.

Maybe invest in a Pikler Triangle?

Clip n climb is fun. You ache the next day, though.

Clip and climb and the other various incarnations of it are my climbers favourite place. Ir the high trail places that are springing up.

Be aware you may find the cot can be escaped ages before anyone else contemplates it........ like, at 15 months out of a cot bed......

Yeah, they end up like that man on the Monty Python sketch...

My Ds was didn’t walk until he was 16 months but my word he could climb, I think the extended crawling period made him a more advanced climber tbh . He’s 11 now and can get to the top of tree in seconds and is always climbing something!

DD didn’t walk until 17 months and is also constantly climbing so I expect her to be as bad as her brother.

@FizzingWhizzbee123 pickler triangles unfortunately tend to be boring for proper climbers. Why climb on something tiny on the floor if you can be on the roof of the playhouse? Great for anxious or hesitant kids though.
Both of mine are climbers, both were under 2 when they mastered the big climbing structures on playgrounds. No injuries so far (fingers crossed), apart from black eyes, bruises and rope burns (they are 7 and 3).

@timeforanew I suspected this might be the case with baby climbing frames for at home. Will save our money (and space). Thank you!
