My little girl has a bad cold, she's all congested you can hear it all in her nose when she's breathing, she's 5 months, me and my partner are chocked up as well, we don't have coughs or fevers " touch hair wood " so I'm 95% sure we all have a cold rather than coronavirus
my we girls not acting under the weather or anything but the congestion that's bothering her, I've been using nasal saline spray and had her in her chair while I was showering for the steam to help, any idea's on what else I can try?

Calpol sell sell a plug which is great for helping deconhest little ones, especially overnight. It's in most supermarkets and pharmacies.

Second the plug in vapour light by calpol. It’s great. Also baby vicks (snufflebabe) on their chest.

Defo the plug in! Works wonders. Snuffle babe on the chest (we put it on the vest rather than skin at that age)

Ive just been through this. Things that helped my son out -

  • the calpol plug
  • nasal saline spray
  • snufflebabe
  • tilting the cot very slightly for sleeps, so the head is ever so slightly raised.

The last one in particular was very effective.

Yes, all of these help. This was last winter for me, basically from September to March, when I guess it cleared as we weren’t seeing anyone to pass germs about!

You can also buy a ‘snot sucker’ to remove the snot from their nose - I believe it helps to loosen it with the saline first. Be warned though, my daughter HATED it and it was almost a 3 man job - one to hold her head still, one to keep her hands away and one to actually put the device in her nose!!!
