What age to switch from babygrows to separates

I was wondering at what age people switched from babygrows to separates in the daytime? My daughter is nearly 6 months and I find T-shirts, leggings etc a massive faff to get on and off her. She wears stuff with poppers 95% of the time, either babygrows or vests and dungarees with poppers at the crotch. I’m thinking about clothes for 6-9 months and 9-12 months and wondering at what age separates might be more useful - maybe it’s hard to crawl in a onesie, with the fabric pulling from arm to leg? I know lots of people like separates from the very beginning for the look of them, but does anyone have advice from a practical angle?

I didn’t realise you had to consciously decide to make the switch from babygro to separates. My DS was massively embarrassed on his first day at secondary school, standing there at the bus stop in his onesie, whilst all his friends had shirts and trousers on.

Just a few weeks for me. I find all the poppers on babygrows a right old faff.

Poppered tops and dungarees all the way. If I had another baby (I'm not!) I would have to rebuy everything and probably wouldn't bother with more than about 6 babygrows just together through the first fortnight or so.

@Covert19 Grin that made me chuckle! I’ll be sure to have her out of poppered things by year 6 at the latest.

For me I think when they went from lying down in a pram with a blanket on to a pushchair, so 4-6 months ? Blankets don't stay on a sitting wriggling baby so they needed thicker clothing or more layers when out and about. Babygrows for bed until 2.
