Naked pictures of babies and toddlers on FB & Instagram

Sorry I’m perhaps looking far too much into this and probably totally unreasonable.

But, why do parents post naked pictures of their children online!
I get it, I also can’t bear how cute I think my little girl is but I would never post a picture of her naked online. There are FAR too many pedo’s online (in fact a number of Facebook groups of men sharing unknown pictures of children online, (I found this out due to a lady on another group) bloody sickens me).
When I watched spotlight recently there was a comment in the film which made me look into this, I found out its 1 in 35-50 men who are in someway attracted to children.
Please even if you set your Facebook to private & posting naked pictures, look at your friends on Facebook and if you don’t ‘really’ know them, get rid.

The world we live in today is a sick and disturbing place.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, I know we all just want the best for our little ones.
That statistic above really shook me and I just wanted to share it. Flowers

Do you have a source for this alarmist nonsense?

WTF?

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 21/08/2020 06:44

That statistic seems a bit high. Where did it come from and how did they measure it?

But yes, I agree. I think posting naked pictures online is a bit odd. I think its because its so normal in the home environment.

DancingCatGif · 21/08/2020 06:50

We don't post any photos of our baby online. Not just because of weirdos but because I literally don't see the point. Yes he is alarmingly cute but that doesn't mean everyone needs to see him.

I don't know if that statistic is right or not but I bet there are far more creeps around than we realise.

user1493413286 · 21/08/2020 06:51

I’ve never seen any of my friends do this but I agree it’s not a good idea.
I’d be interested in how they reached that statistic

KaptainKaveman · 21/08/2020 06:56

What are "pedo's"? (and why the apostrophe ?)

Where are those stats from?

"I found this out due to a lady on another group"....er, what?

Are you aware that it is entirely possible to find out facts from actual proven news sources? and no, I don't mean Infowars of Breitbart

KaptainKaveman · 21/08/2020 06:57

or

Suzi888 · 21/08/2020 07:33

I wouldn’t post my naked child on any type of social media. You have no idea where that image might end up

Belle82 · 21/08/2020 09:30

On last week’s BBC Question Time we heard one estimate for the number of men in the UK who have a sexual interest in children.

"According to the National Crime Agency, one in 35 British men have a sexual interest in children. Let's say even one tenth of that number look at indecent images online, that is 75,000 people."

Even the national crime agency have said they can not be completely certain but as I said it was a statistic which scared me and I just wanted to make others aware.

Yes the lady from a baby and toddler group had a man try to friend her who had no details on his fb profile, so she looked into the groups he was on and found the one I referenced in my original post. She reported it to FB but when she warned us about it other comments told the same story of other sites on FB.

I’m just saying please be careful, there are too many weirdos out there Flowers

There is no reason to be rude.
I think that national crime agency doesn’t quite come under a news source like the one you refer to.

Yea ive heard alot recently about predators on instagram and Facebook. Several accounts I follow have recently found pictures of their children being posted by completly random people that they don't know, and i have had some shady looking acckunts making comments of photos of my daughter. Im not on Facebook anyway but I've made sure my profile is private and only people I know can follow me. I also changed my username from my actual name to something less identifiable. Might seem over the top but so much about paedophilia and child trafficking gets covered up by the media, and the facts are shocking once you look into it more closely

Belle82 · 22/08/2020 20:30

@Charlottejade89
I’m so disturbed by it all. And it’s so true I really do think a lot is covered up.
And the posts about not posting pictures of your child’s uniform because it just tells these child predators where they go to school.

I want the world to know how beautiful I think my little girl is. But my priority is and always will be her safety.

Why give pedophiles what they want.
MIL once posted a picture of my little girl in the bath, I told my husband if he didn’t tell her to take it down immediately then I would and I wouldn’t be so nice about it!Angry
