Last feed for 10 month old

Well 10 months in 2 days :) so our last feed is at 6:45pm. She sleeps till 5:00am. So I wake up just before than and give her , her first bottle for the day.

My mums thinks I should feed her again at 9:00pm.. but if she isn't waking up for it what's the point.

Just wanted to know what time is last feed with others?

Thank you

I can only dream of such sleep, but if she's not waking just leave her. If she needed it she'd wake.

Sewinginscotland · 20/08/2020 20:10

Does she go back to sleep after a feed at 5am? If not, would you like her to sleep longer?

That's the only reason to give a dream feed at 9pm. If you're happy with the current set up, don't change it!

I'd be happy with how you have it now.

@Spam88 what time do you last feed?

@Sewinginscotland she normally goes back to sleep and wakes up around 6:30. 7:00 if I'm lucky 😂

@NeverHadANickname thanks

I will just stick with this. Sometimes I do think how is she not hungry but that adds to about 10 hours of no feed which I think is normal.

There's no last feed in this house, it's a 24/7 buffet 😂

Sewinginscotland · 20/08/2020 20:39

At 10 months, she will be more than capable of going 10 hours with no food. I nightweaned (stopped giving bottles overnight) at 11 months and wished I'd done it sooner. Mine required a feed at 3am and then was up for at least an hour though. If she's waking at 5.30 on the dot (and it sounds like she is if you're setting your alarm) it could just be a habit wake and you could try dropping that feed if you have the inclination.

Otherwise, if it isn't broke, then don't fix it!

@Spam88 same 🙄😂

I’m a huge fan of the dreamfeed for younger babies but at 10 months I really wouldn’t start. If you really want to try to get her to go past 5am then I’d be more inclined to try to increase the food intake during the day and make sure she has a really filling meal before bed- porridge can be good. If you did decide to suddenly start feeding at 9pm, you’ll likely just end up disturbing long block of overnight sleep. But she’s sleeping really, really well and I think most people would be happy with how you currently have it!

Kitkat05 · 20/08/2020 21:15

@Spam88 😂😂😂 24/7 buffet 😂

@ShyTown thank you. I will just stick with what we are doing then.

Last feed used to be about 7pm, and she'd sleep till 7am, another feed and back to sleep to 9am-ish.

I don't bother with a dream feed either. DC3 is the same age and happily goes around 12 hours no milk - I just make sure I feed her as soon as she wakes.

Ihaveoflate · 20/08/2020 21:37

At that age my baby had a bottle at 6:30pm and not another one until 6:30 am at the very earliest. She was on 3 good solid meals a day by then and 3 milk feeds (first thing, mid afternoon, bed time). I don’t understand why your mother would suggest feeding again - she’s not a newborn!

my DS is almost 9 months. He has three bottles a day. Roughly 7:30am, 3pm and last one at 10pm. He goes to bed about 8pm and sleeps until 7am.
I did toy with trying to move the last bottle forward and actually asked for opinions on here. The consensus was if it ain’t broke don’t fix it Grin

aimzxd · 20/08/2020 23:52

My bubs does this now (8months almost). He's started going down for the night about 7.30pm, has a 210ml bottle about 6.30/7ish. We used to dream feed him at 10 but made no difference, he'd stir from 5amish. He isnt hungry then, still sleepy. He'd only take 10/20ml if I got him up. Instead I just pop his dummy in and if that doent work, hold his hand but he's still in the next to me crib in my room. He then sleeps till anywhere between 6.45 to 8.30am! Think its the birds that wake him tbh.
