DD 8 has started have ask for a bath in the bathroom on her own. I usually potter in and out. I feel a bit like she is too young,
Obviously I would stay upstairs and listen. Just after opinions/advice

When DD was 8 I started leaving her in the bathroom alone however I'd potter around in the next room and chat/listen.
More often than not she'd be calling for me to pass the soap/shampoo/ come look at this etc so actually wasn't alone for much of the time at all.

With the door ajar? Can’t see any problem at this age. What are your concerns? Are you worried about her slipping?

Personally I’ve pottered in and out of the bathroom since my DD was 2. She’s nearly 4 now and I don’t worry about nipping downstairs if she wants me to grab her a drink. But that’s because she sings at the top of her voice throughout bathtime - she can’t be drowning if I can still hear the singing! Our bath is also quite small/low so she has no difficulty at all getting out at the end without slipping, but I know some baths are harder and you’d need to keep a more watchful eye.

She will eventually need to be left. She’s asking now - why not set some ground rules (like keeping the door ajar or similar) and give it a go? You can stay close by. If you have a steep/slippy bath, maybe a bath mat would be a good idea?

Around 3/4 years old for a short amount of time. By about 5/6 not too worried.

DD has just turned 4 and I'd be happy to leave her for most of it, coming back in to help with hair washing, providing she leaves the door unlocked.

6/7 but I'm upstairs and keep popping in and chatting to him. He will be in there hours playing.
