High temperature

Just looking for advise please
My dd is 4 months and this is the first time I've experienced a high temperature which is 38.1, reason for it is she's just had her 3rd set of immunisations so i'm not concerned as such I'm just not sure how to control it/bring it down. She's had her 3rd dose of calpol and spits it out each time even with me putting it to side of her mouth! So I'm just keeping an eye on her through night which by the way she is fast asleep after being a tad grumpy wanting mummy cuddles, I was worried I was making her too hot with cuddling her, it's about 23 degrees in her room should I dress her? do I cover her up? Or do I just leave her in a nappy.. first time mummy here if I didn't know the reason for her high temperature I'd be going spare ShockGrin

Hi! I remember this well 😊 DS was fine after the first two sets of jabs, then got a temperature after the third and I remember being besides myself with worry. I'd check the advice on high temperatures on the NHS website and call 111 for reassurance. DS was fine once he'd napped, but I can't remember the official advice for temperatures when they're this little. Good luck!

BTW, dress her in clothing appropriate for the room temperature, I think the NHS no longer advises stripping them down (do check though)

Yep remember this too. I would put her in a vest. If the temperature is bothering her (a lot of crying, no sleep whatsoever) just get the Calpol down her. It’s horrible and hard and feels borderline mean, but you have to be quite insistent with it. She will sleep it off then.
