I'm a sahp and I'm running out of ideas to entertain my dd. We go on walks, feed the ducks, paint, build things...
What else can we do?

Books, paddling pool if you have outside space, water drawing mat, collect stones and pine cones on your walks, play dough, pick blackberries.

Bake, visits to farm parks etc. (all open now where we are), supermarket, cafe, put on a CD and dance/sing, opportunities for independent play, some baby groups are starting in September (music bugs etc.), swimming, sand tray/water tray/tuff tray outside if the weather is fair, visit friends and family in gardens and/or parks

Just to say I think between 1-2 is the hardest age to entertain, for me it was a case of physically wearing my LO out. Soft play, local farm, park, swimming- more difficult now granted.

22mo DS loves being outside. We have spent WEEKS during lockdown putting pegs on the line. He also enjoys running round the garden with the hose. He usually requires a change of clothes, but my plants have never been so well watered! The sandbox is good too. He would be quite happy visiting the park twice every day.

He also loves colouring and painting. He has a lockbox toy which has entertained him for hours, and a rainbow (not a grimm's one but looks the same). Baking keeps him entertained briefly so long as you weigh everything out first, then let him tip/mix in the bowl.

Our 20 month old has loved colouring books and crayons this summer, plus the usual paddling pool/park/walks etc. In term time when she’s at her grandparents’ house during the day, they do a morning walk to the park and then crafts and playing in the afternoon.

To be honest, she’s just happy with a change of scene. We’ve been to lots of friends’ gardens and/or parks in their village/town, which she’s loved exploring.
