Any tips on how to get back to sleep during night feeds

Hi all

10 week old still still feeding through the night every 2-3 hours. I am EBF so I try and let my husband sleep through as no point us both being awake.

I’ve never suffered from insomnia before, but recently finding it really hard to get back to sleep - especially after the first 12/1am feed. It can make the night time feel endless...

Any tips?

I had this until my DD moved into her own room. In hindsight I was making myself anxious listening to her breathing and expecting something awful to happen.

Sorry, I know that isn't a tip, but I do empathise.

If you’re just not dozing off, get up and do something for 20 mins. I read a book, with just enough lights on so that I can see the print comfortably. If you tend to lie in bed thinking about everything you have to do tomorrow, write it down.
Go back to bed when you feel drowsy. I was told that it’s important not to stay in bed, even if you’re reading, as it will lead your brain and body to associate your bed with being awake instead of with sleep.
Another things that’s worked for me is progressive muscle relaxation. Work your way through the different muscle groups in your body (e.g. arms, legs, face) tensing the muscles in each group for five seconds before releasing the tension all at once. Take slow, deep breaths in between muscle groups.
