So I've posted a few times about feeling hot and feverish since having my baby 5 months ago,
I ended up in out of hours at the weekend due to feeling so ill I really felt like I was going to pass out all weekend, the doctor asked my doctors to get my bloods done
Results came back today and the receptionist called me telling me my thyroid is unclear, some level is to high some is to low but she can't explain it can only read the notes, I asked to speak to a doctor twice and was told no and to come back for bloods in 2 months
I am really at my wits end here, I've phoned my docs 2 times regarding how unwell I've been feeling, I've been refused an appointment and diagnosed over the phone it's a hormone imbalance and now my bloods have came back unclear but I can't speak to a doctor??
I know coronavirus is putting a strain on the health care but for the love of god people are unwell and not getting help
I know there's something not right with me I've been feeling ill for 5 months and getting no where with the doctors?
Anyone shed some light before I lose my marbles

The only thing I could think of that you haven't tried is changing GP. If you're not happy with them, you are perfectly at liberty to transfer to another one in your area (if there is one). Obviously you run the risk of them not seeing you either!

The last resort option is always going to A&E if your symptoms become intolerable, but it's really no fun to be sitting around all day in hospital.

Good luck - I hope you get it sorted soon.

As I’ve said before, it’s ridiculous that you can get a haircut but not get an appointment with the GP. Coronavirus is starting to feel like an excuse at my surgery now.

Good luck OP - I hope you get it sorted.

I'd ask to speak to the practice manager at your GPs. It's just not acceptable to not allow you to speak to a GP when you're clearly suffering and not having results explained to you properly.

I'd also be calling some other practices to see if they are taking new patients.

You need a phone appointment with a doctor who you have a good relationship with. This would be best at your current practice but if you feel that the relationship has failed you should move practices. Speak to the practice manager if you can't get an appointment. Write down your symptoms with the timescale so that you can make clear how you feel and how it has evolved when you speak to your doctor. They will invite you for video or f2f consultation if they need to. They will want to know the physical facts but also how this is effecting you and what your worries are. Some things are hard to diagnose and take time which sucks for the patient.

Does your gp have an online consultation firm you can fill out? They’ll then ring you to discuss the issue.

The receptionist really shouldn’t be deciding who is allowed an appointment.
