New to cloth - Want to use a sized nappy advice please

I am new to cloth and would like to use sized nappies from birth. I like the totsbots cotton tots & bamboozles, but am worried about the slim fit issue.

Any advice welcome.

you could do worse than finding yourself a Lollipop advisor - they will come to your home and show you lots of lovely nappies so you can see exactly what you're buying before you part with the cash. reusuables are much slimmer than you might think

Sorry should make myself a bit clearer. Am worried that the totsbots won't last very long as I have heard they are more appropriate for slimmer babies.

I've had great success with Bimbles - nice slim fit on newborn dd - but even at 6 weeks she is starting to get too chunky for the smallest size, so I'm glad I got them second hand else I'd have spent a fortune.

(the fleecey inner is great if you're in a hard water area without a drier)

really depends on the size of your baba tbh. a size 1 nappy should last til 16-20lbs or 6months-ish, that is what most guidlines will tell you - but should you have a chunky monkey it might be less, or a skinny minnie a lot longer iyswim.

nappies v easy to sell on, esp if only used for a few months mind

(it's the size 0s, allegedly up to 15lb, that are starting to strain round dd. Spanky new size 1s just arrived though )

bambinex or bambineos as they were known are made of bamboo like the bamboozles and are slim fitting - the 'arms' seem a bit longer so should last the apropriate range although the nippa ones can allegedly be used bith to potty but i have no experience of these. I stock em but havent over used them as im a pockets gal.. cheaper alternative though so worth consideration - bimbles... cant knock em - i only use em in emergencies through day and on a night and they are fab.

I love bambinex - definately a wider weight range (especially if you nippa). I'm not too sure how well the aplix/popper size ones fit on teeny babies, but chunky would be fine.

Bimbles are great though - I would highly recommend starting off with those, and then moving on to bambinex/bamboozles or bumbles

Agree with everyone on all counts, I loved my bimbles but they were size 0 and didn´t quite make it to the alleged 15lb mark, he was out of them well before 3 months but I also picked mine up second hand so I didn´t mind. Really liked them, nice and simple and did the job and while the outside got a bit crunchy in our hard water, the fleecey inside was nice and soft against his bum.

Bambineo size 1s were also really lovely, I had a size 1 bamboozle and never really liked it much, the bambineo was much slimmer and I just preferred the cut.

My vote goes for bimbles everytime

theFlyingEvil - do you really think they´re easy to sell on? Everyone says that but I´ve been trying to sell some size 1 nappies and no one´s biting??

If using the cotton/rainbow tots with a nippa, you can customise the size by folding down at the front - we dressed our daughter in Size 2s from about 6-8 weeks by doing this and she still fits them now! So size 1s will definitely fit a newborn. I also agree that the small bambinex (esp. teddy nappies) are a lovely slim, snug fit. We've bought both from cleangreennappy.co.uk. Good luck!
