8 weeks jabs baby won't take calpol

Hi, first time mum and looking for some advice. My dd is 8 weeks old and had her jabs this afternoon, I gave her some calpol once we got home and she spat it back out and screamed, I tried a second time and she did the same again, i didn't want to try a third time as I am unsure if she swallowed little bits. Her next dose is due at 730pm, I'm really worried she will develop a fever because she didn't get enough calpol! Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated x

I didn't ever give calpol, it was never needed. Hope you get it in if necessary, maybe squirt around bottle or soother teat if you use or as a pp said, in bottle.

Late response but you could use suppositories. I prefer them as it goes straight into the blood stream x

It is recommended to stop fever that then menb vaccine can give.

Update- she felt warm and her temperature was 37.2 degrees which is ok. She also managed nearly all of the calpol at her last dose, I squirted a little bit into her cheek until it was all gone 🙂 x

Syringe is the way to go! Good luck!

My DD refused all calpol. The only way to get it in was to have her latched on to my boob and then tuck the Calpol syringe in the corner of her mouth and put a tiny bit in at a time whole she was happily sucking away. Any other way she would spit it out. You'll get the hang of it. Good luck!
