How to feed baby when out/things needed for FF?

Baby is FF so need to know what to get for when I'm visiting people or out in general. What are the best flasks, containers etc? How do I make the formula cool enough for baby to drink when out without waiting?

I would take a ready made carton and a sterilised bottle

I bought a vacuum flask from Tk Maxx. I fill it with boiled water before I leave. I also take a old bottle filled with water from my prep machine so this is in effect the cold water. So if i was making an 8oz feed i would put three oz of my boiling water in, add the powder (you can get little tubs for going out and about) then add the 5oz of cold water.
I used to also fill the bottle with the boiled water in the hope it would be cool enough by the time i
needed it but most of the time it wasn’t and i still needed to run the bottle under a cold tap which is hard when out as most places have those stupid automatic taps.

I had tommee tippee flask.

Boiling water in flask, sterilised bottle, milk powder in pot. Cold water in bottle or get from a tap/cafe whilst out.

Boiling water into bottle, mix in powder, use flask outer thingy to cool bottle in cold water.

Or if baby is due bottle within a short time then prepare bottle at home. (I think it's 2 hour max if baby hasn't had any friend it)

I second ready made cartoons. DD was on specialist formula and it was such a faff. I used to measure into a bottle two oz of hot water from a flask, add in the 6 premeasured scoops of powder, shake then get the second bottle with 4oz of boiled and cool water to add to the milk bottle. Absolute nightmare of going out for a day. I’m so glad bf worked this time round as I hated the faff of it so much.

Sterilised bottles and a couple of ready made cartons. Life is way too short to faff around with making up bottles. The expense is utterly worth the lack of hassle.

I used to tie myself in absolute knots about this! But eventually found a way that worked perfectly for us.

I had the tommee tippee flask. When still at home, i would boil the kettle and then leave the kettle standing for at least 30 minutes. Then i would fill the flask and take it out with me.

When it was feed time, i would pour the water from the flask into the bottle then i would add the formula (pre measured at home and kept in handy containers) then shake up.

The temperature was never too hot for my baby to manage doing it this way. It was so bloody stressful messing about trying to cool a bottle down when out and about!

Also to add - my baby was premature and on special prescribed formula so i couldnt use the little pre made cartons. I 100% would have used them otherwise!

Neither of my DS's would/will take premade cartons.

At the moment, DS2 is on 7oz bottles. I'll add 5.5oz of boiling water to cool while I'm out and then top it up with the remaining time 1.5oz while I'm out and then add the formula.

Like a PP, if it's not long before a feed is due, I'll make a bottle an oz less on the perfect prep then top up an oz with boiling from the flask.

We use the mam formula holders, but I also loved the tommee Tippee single tubs if I was just going out over a time when I only needed one feed.

It all seems confusing at first, but really soon becomes second nature.

He's 10 months now so only really has a bottle first thing in the morning and last thing at night so I tend to not need bottles during the day any more which was a game changer both times around.

Two coolies bottles one with boiling water other with cooled boiled water. 2oz of boiling water in bottle. Add powdered from pre measured container. Shake. Top with cool boiled water to amount needed. Feed.

I’ve always found it easiest to either take a made bottle out with me if I’ll need it within 2 hours or use the pre made cartons.
