we have a rota - i use different methods all the time. when my kids were younger i neer did pocket money - i fail to see the resoning - priase for good behaviour - sanctions for bad behaviour - do chores when i ask - becuase i ask and thats that.

however as mine have hit 14 and require increasing amounts of money for socialising - i have a dopted a straight £10 per week

this means that the kids have a room a day each to clean so tomorrow for instance - its front room/diningroom (openplan) for one twin and the kitchen - for the other

i am very specific as t whati require - floor mopping bin emptying - hoovering of carpet etc.

they also still do what i ask when i ask - becuase i am supreme ruler and they get in deep shit i they don't

if one job isn't done or missed - the tenner is void

so - in my house there is no job hierarchy - and i hate pocketmoney full stop its only becuase for me this way its actually cheaper and i get my house cleaned

Like your style! Mines similar tbh. I only have one dd and she is 12, so like your needs money for phone & socialising. Everyday she does, dishwasher emptying and filling, clear stairs of upstairs stuff and put it away. Once a week, she hoovers & polishes bedroom, empties bins and puts rubbish out, does some of her own ironing. She gets £20 per month and money is paid in arrears, so I can dock at will if necessary!

DS is 6, he does the recyling on a Saturday morning. He gets 20 pence for a small pile and 50 pence for a larger pile.

I have mentally written off the money, presuming he would lose it. Imagine my surprise when following a chat about Pocket Money and the need to be sensible he showed me his money box every penny in there for the last few weeks.
