Napping difficult at weekends

We’ve established that my DS has been suffering from overtiredness and so we’ve introduced a couple more naps for him during the day. We’re only two days in but it seems to be working well so far.

This weekend though we’re seeing friends and family on both days during the afternoon and it’s likely to be quite a noisy affair.

How do we ensure DS manages to get his naps in? We’ll be visiting other people and also going out to eat, so he won’t have his usual cot or darkened room and white noise. What are you meant to do - just hope he falls asleep in his pram (unlikely with DS) or not go out at all? Confused

He’s three months old.

Leave the group and take him for a walk in his pram to fall asleep. Then come back and hopefully he'll stay sleep.

If possible, and specially if this is a newish sleep routine, I would try to avoid his naps always taking place in a darkened room with white noise. I agree a walk in the pram is a good way to get naps in when you are out.

Agree with pp, take him for a walk, get him off to sleep, then park him up in a quiet room at your friends.

You can play white noise on your phone and these snooze shades are quite useful.

Or could you rock him to sleep and then put him down in his pram in a quiet room?

Mine always slept in the car on the way to places. Or if you are at someone else's house or a restaurant, out for a walk in the pushchair and then should hopefully sleep fine through the meal. Neither of mine have ever really napped at home. It's so much easier to get them used to sleeping in the car or pushchair so you aren't stuck home all day.
