16 week old baby weight with centiles

I have downloaded a cool app for tracking baby’s weight and typed in all of her weight readings since she was born. The results are attached.

The first few readings were from proper baby scales at checkups, but the last 3 (and the 4.9kg one) were all done on our digital scales at home- weighing myself, then myself holding the baby, then subtracting. The scales are just Wilko ones so probably not massively accurate, but I always put them in the same place on a hard floor and take the readings a few times.

Being the world’s biggest worrier I am slightly panicking about the 100g drop between the last two readings; can anyone reassure me??

And should I be worried about the fact that she hasn’t been following a particular centile line? She is exclusively breast fed.

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t worry about the last two readings - our HV advised us to only weigh the baby once a month as their weight fluctuates, just like ours does.

I’m not sure about tracking on the curve though, I’d call the HV. Is the chart the same as in the red book?

@Carbis thanks for replying! She’s been a bit fussy feeding lately so I decided to weigh her again a bit sooner but wish I hadn’t now! The curves are the WHO ones according to the app so yes I think the same as the red book?

A feed or wee can make that kind of difference (not exactly sure how much a baby wees each time).

Vague memory that it's not a concern until child drops 2 percentiles on the graph.

I also have a 16 week old, and my HV says its not an issue unless they drop 2 centiles. For example, from 90th to 80th (I think?)

None of the HCP I’ve dealt with have ever mentioned centiles at all since she was born (they did before she was born as I had growth scans due to GD).. but yes I think this is what it says on the NHS website and in the red book. Just find it weird that she doesn’t seem to be following any of the curves even slightly!

Measurements on your home scale won't be remotely accurate anyway so please don't worry!
