Snooze shade pram cover

Thoughts on the snooze shade pram cover? I’m so worried about it over heating the pram but also the parasols are next to useless and keeping the sun out when it’s it’s very sunny. It says the material is breathable and uv filtered? Has anyone used these and can tell me whether they heat the pram up inside or are actually fine? Thanks

We have one and it’s fine, it does still let in a small amount of light from the sides but blocks out most of the light.

We used ours with a natural sheep skin liner in the pram to avoid any sweating/overheating which helped 😊

I have one and am also worried OP! I wish they were available in different (lighter) colours - surely black is the worst colour for absorbing heat?

We have one, we bought it for when we went on holiday when DS was 11 months. For us, it was less about sun protection and more to block out light and distractions so that he could nap in the pushchair.

We had a cracker of a week, blazing sunshine and 25 degrees every day. To be honest, it did get pretty warm under there, even though we had the mesh ventilation panels on the pushchair hood open too.

Give it a go, but do check the temperature regularly. For a little baby still in a pram I wouldn't use one - I'd get a bigger parasol or one of those clip on sun shades instead.

We had one for our twins and it was a lifesaver regarding napping in the pram. We used it here and on holiday

Summer41 · 18/07/2020 09:44

It's brilliant, we took it on holiday abroad and it allowed baby to sleep in his pushchair in the daytime. It also covers their legs if you have the window open for baby to see out.

Just be careful what you do with it, my outer cover dropped down without me noticing, it got caught in my front wheels and ripped. I didn't even notice, it was another parent walking past that told me my cover was churning around my wheels!

I have the Snoozeshade and the Aldi Mamia version. The Aldi one is thinner and has one layer, Snoozeshade has two. I prefer the Snoozeshade for darkness and the Aldi one for coolness/ventilation.

Amazing!

Ditto to the above posters, we found it great on holiday. Not just for in the day, but to black out the pram at night for DD to fall asleep without any distractions.

I did find she got a bit sweaty if it was really hot, but we tended to take her for a walk with the shade on to get her to sleep and then park up somewhere shady (usually a bar, or by the pool!) and take the shade down. She was a heavy sleeper though so I realise that might not work for all little ones!

We used one when ds was little to protect from sun and also for minimising distraction for naps. Never seemed excessively hot and we even used it when we went to Vegas when he was 1 and the weather was boiling!

Lockdownseperation · 19/07/2020 06:58

They are really dangerous, if you are going to use one then put a thermometer in there to keep an eye on the temperature.

HogDogKetchup · 19/07/2020 07:01

The snooze shades have been rigorously tested? I use one. I will not use any other cover in its place.

HarrietM87 · 19/07/2020 08:20

They are great. We use it for blackout for all of DS’s pram naps. We would never leave him in full sun though, always put the pram in the shade. I also didn’t use it when he was under 6 months as I liked being able to see him - we used a parasol instead.

ReySky · 19/07/2020 08:28

I have one and think it's brilliant and love that it offers UV protection too, though I still use suncream. If it's particularly hot, I have a clip on fan that I put on the lowest setting and clip onto the pushchair underneath the snooze shade, but I regularly unzip and pop my hand in to check on the temperature.

JanewaysBun · 19/07/2020 08:28

They do increase the temperature a lot despite what the advertising says however a lot of people use them with no issue

I have this for holidays which is amazing

Have you aeen the dooky shade? They come in lighter colours and have been tested apparently.

attillathenun · 19/07/2020 11:48

I have one but I don’t use it to cover the pram completely, only really over my DD legs to keep the sun off them on a sunny day. You can stretch them across from the hood to the handle of the pram to create a shade effect which I prefer to do, as I do worry having it all over DD like a cocoon would be way too hot!
