Hi
Just after any advise if possible, at bedtime which is normally anytime between 18:30/19:30 I've always fed my little one upstairs then when he's finished put him in his cot drowsy he's had a little nosey around turned his head then gone to sleep however over the last week I've been putting him down and he's refusing to go to sleep, is this usual at all and any recommendations to try and change this? Thank you :) x

Maybe that time is a little too early? My little one at that age went to bed around 9 and slept straight until around 8:30am. She's now 1 and sleeps from 8pm-7:30am.
She would never go to sleep that early or she'd just wake up an hour later thinking it's play time haha.
We let her take the reins and she just made her own routine, we just stick to the same thing every night Smile

Hi @GAW19 thanks for the reply, how did your nap times go? Unfortunately he's not a great napper so think he would be rather overtired my 9pm maybe, he has been going to sleep closer to 8 recently however particularly bad night last night and was 10pm and had to take him for a walk in the end x

Maybe he's starting sleep regression? DD used to nap through the day, fall asleep around half 6, wake and then fall asleep again around 9, then sleep through til around 8am, but once she hit 6 months she was awake alllllll the time. She's 14 months now and has only just started to have a decent nap in the afternoon

@dillydallydollydaydream7 thank you!! you could be right, I can't really tell as he's always been a bad napper and nightsleeper 😭xx

@Dexy2020 ah fingers crossed that if it is sleep regression, when he grows out of it he'll be a much better sleeper for you! DD is a mixed bag now - some nights she sleeps right through, others she's up two or three times for a drink then straight back down - Monday night she ended up in bed with us from 2am 🙈

@dillydallydollydaydream7 I do hope so :) I think the most we've ever had out of him at night is 6/7 hours but it's very rare he still has 1/2 feeds a night bless him xx

At that age my little boy was sleeping at between 8-8.30. We just went with when he went to sleep and altered naps to that. I remember that time it's such a good age 😍.

@GreenLeafTurnip thank you for your reply, I think I'm definately going to try for a later bedtime around 20:00/20:30 :) i will let him have a little bit of a later nap this evening about half 4ish i think, give him a bath around 19:15 and see what happens :D xx

Could be sleep regression, maybe teething a bit? Mine is 6.5 months old and she sleeps from 8-7/7:30. At 4 months and around 6 months, we had a period where she wouldn't go to sleep and when she did, would wake up through the night!

Dexy2020 · 14/07/2020 20:33

@FirstTimer2020 I definately think teething could be a factor, I've just recently bought him some Anbesol Liquid and I'm sure it's helping, 19:45 he's gone down tonight 🤞🤞he stays asleep a little while before he wants to feed his belly again 😂xx
