Buggy boards

Any experiences of using a buggy board? Do they work? Is it hard to push a pram with them in the way? I see some even have a little seat.

It’s like pushing a tank. I gave up and made DD1 scoot but she had just turned 3.

No. I found it hard to push leaning over my toddler. Plus he weighed a ton. In the end sitting on the front bit (of my particular buggy which had a high foot plate) was easier.

We had a lascal mini buggy board first on the brittax pram and then on the silver cross pop buggy when we sold the pram. Always worked well as ds was a great walker but only 2.5 when dd was born so got tired from time to time.
I found it handy in shops to stop him doing a runner.
He was small though so didnt get in the way too much!
It does make the pram harder to push but I don't regret having it at all, benefits outweighed this.We used it until he was 5 on and off if we were going a long way. In fact only recently sold it on ebay as we no longer use a buggy!
Especially useful on holiday when we have done a lot of walking.

Thanks for the replies. Only a 2 year age gap so a bit little to scoot. I might stick with sling buggy combo for a few months more as I think I would find it cumbersome to push.

I absolutely loved mine. I had a small age gap (less than 2 years) and I walked everywhere. There were a couple of very steep hills that I had to tell my toddler to get off for but other than that it was brilliant.

I just got mine and I love it! 2 year gap here and oldest is 2.5. I haven't found it harder to push but love my buggy it handles so well and pushes like a 4x4!

OneJumpAhead · 10/07/2020 23:56

What buggy to you have @farmertom?

You can get scooters that stick to the back of the pram now. So they feel like they're doing on themselves. X

I really like mine although there’s a 3 year age gap so DD often walks and if there’s a hill I get her to jump off and walk. It’s great for if I’m in a rush and don’t have time to walk at DDs pace or when she’s getting tired.

I loved my lascal years ago (2 year age gap). Used on a mamas and papas and No problems using / pushing it but a little cumbersome. Now have a bugaboo and their buggy board with a seat and it’s t best thing we own. (Age gap 2y9m.) Easy to push, comfortable for toddler. We love it.

We have a bugaboo bee and using it with the bugaboo board which has a detachable seat. DC2 not born yet but DC1 (just 2) likes riding on the buggyboard. The board itself is off to one side rather than being in the middle of the pram which makes it much easier to push. Going to alternate between that and using the sling for DC2 when she’s born later this year (DC1 will be 2.5).

Sorry @OneJumpAhead only just getting back!
Mines a 'my child buggy board' it's not that expensive new (unlike a lot of them) but I got it off Facebook marketplace for £15 👍

It's pretty simple and no frills which I like, it says it's universal and it attaches to my buggy which is a mamas and papas one. So far it's been great.
I'll try and attach a picture x
