Hi

I don't know if I'm over thinking this or not, but we are back to work next week and my parents are going to watch my 11 month old. He will be 1 at the end of the month. I'm just wondering what they should have in terms of sleeping for him? He still has a good 2 hours in the morning and an hour in the afternoon.
My mum sent me a picture of a bed with low sides, but he will fall out of this. What does everyone else have? Any advice is great.

Thanks x

My DM would push DS out in pram or pushchair and he would then sleep in the garden unless it was very cold or very hot. Other people I know had a cot at the Gps.

Mine used to sleep in their stroller (lay flat) for all naps, so I just asked our childminder to carry this on at their house.

Travel cot! £35 from argos, lives at Granny's, easy peasy.

If you look on Facebook market place there are generally lots of cots for sale which would be safer.

My parents had a travel cot that was used for all the grandchildren.

Big advantage that it could be easily put away when noone visiting or gaps when there were no children of an age to need it.

Travel cot - very cheap second hand. We just got one for £20 which was practically brand new.

My mum has a cot bed. Dd spends 3 afternoonns a week there. Plus maybe 1 or 2 sleepovers a month so made sense for her to have a room there

Alanna1 · 03/07/2020 09:10

We used a travel cot here, too.

travel cots are ideal but get one with reasonable mattress
they are also useful for safety reasons ie a short term playpen when cooking or whatever
they fold up to nothing
& getting a second hand baby bath is useful to (both as mini paddle pool when hot or if db gets dirty being plastic this is easy clean)

You can buy a foam mattress to fit the travel cot if you're not worried about transporting it around - just store it under a bed when not in use.

Thanks everyone. We ended up getting a nice cot/bed after looking for soooo long for a travel cot. Will take on board the bath as a swimming pool etc.

Trying to make this as stress free as possible for us going back to work, so they have everything when babysitting. Lol.
