Toddler eyelid drooping/one eye bigger than the other. Should I be worried?

Hi all! I could just be being an over anxious first time mum, but recently I've noticed that my 16 month old has one eyelid that droops more than the other/is bigger than the other? Feel free to tell me I'm being silly!

I've only really noticed it recently, perhaps because she's gotten bigger ect but I've looked at pics of when she was smaller and she had it then too.

It doesn't seem to affect her vision and she's perfectly well and happy. Nobody else has noticed it (or if they have they haven't mentioned it) so perhaps it's something only I've noticed!

I'm wondering if it's just a quirk she has and nothing to worry about, or wether it warrants further investigation?

I've attached a couple of pics. It seems like her right eye is smaller/left eye's upper eyelid is more prominent. In some pics you can hardly see it but in others it's fairly prominent.

I tend to be over anxious and worry as it is. I had a lazy eye as a child and it needed surgical correction (totally fine now).

Thank you!

Hi OP! My daughter has this, it is called ptosis. It was very similar to your daughter at the same age. We took her to a paediatrician who said that nothing would be done about it unless it partially obscured the iris - basically it is cosmetic and of no concern. There is an operation you can have done privately when she's older, to tighten the muscle so it doesn't droop.

My DD is now 5. To be honest if anything it has become slightly more obvious as she has got older but it doesn't look bad... To us, it's just part of her face! It is particularly noticeable in photos. She doesn't know she has it, or has never mentioned it and it has never caused any issues at all. DH and I decided we would wait until she mentions it, if she ever does, and if she is bothered by it we would just pay to have it corrected if that's what she wants to do.

Your DD is adorable btw!
