4 week old blocked nose

Hi all

My 4 week old has a blocked nose. I have been using saline drops but doesn't seem to make any difference.

Has anyone else had this with their little ones?

Does your lo take a dummy? Calpol do dummy inhalor things. There's also a bogey extractor device thing for blocked noses. Tesco sell it, but I havent had to use it yet.

In case you breast feed, then breastmilk really helps - just squirt a little bit into each nostril.

Second for the bogey extrator device. Its like a turkey baster but for extracting bogeys.

Thanks all. I will have to look at the extractor.

@aimzxd She won't take a dummy, we tried. I shall have a look anyway just in case

My son is 17 weeks and has been struggling with congestion for about 6 weeks if not more. Its driving me insane because its really affecting his sleep. I tried the following in case you want to try..

Sit in chair in bathroom when having shower

Calpol plug ins - these only last 8 hours so to cover him for 12 hours I would buy some snuffle baby and put a few drops in some warm water and put besides his cot

Check humidity in bedroom. I bought a tiny humidity temperature thing for the bedroom.

The snot extractor was hard to use and baby hated it.

Plenty of fresh air

Calpol nasal drops and spray

None worked for us unfortunately. We just keep him up right as much as poss in the day x
