Bathing an older baby?

Potentially a stupid question...

DD is nearly 6 months and starting to sit up. She's getting too big for our Anglecare bath seat, so what do we do now?

The bathseats for older babies (where they're sitting up not lying back) don't get great reviews, and just having her in the tub with a nonslip mat sounds like a recipe for disaster.

We just put an anti-slip mat in the bottom of ours and laid dd down in some water. Just a little bit so that it didn't go in her ears. She enjoyed being able to kick and splash.
After a couple of months she was able to sit up alone so I didn't see the point in buying another bath seat.

Never realised the bath seats got bad reviews. I got one for my DS when he was 6 months, now 8 months and it's been a lifesaver and he loves it too as he's sitting up and can play with his bath toys rather than cry when we're trying to hold him still!

We lie dd down and let her have a splash and shes more than happy in her bath seat too. She CAN sit up by herself but pretends she cant and will launch herself back if you move so shes a liability in the bath

Dd was born with and still has massive amounts of hair.

So yes, she is 20 months old. Gets in bath, lies back on seat to do hair easily without soap in eyes and then moves onto anti slip mat to play and do teeth etc.

She's never tried to get off it and when we went on holiday without it I was really bad at washing her hair without soaking her face.m

We have a plastic baby bath which came from Mothercare and we use that for playing, the actual washing we don't actually use standing water, we lie him on the shower cubicle floor and use the spray head to wash. Cheaper and quicker than filling the main bath.
Just getting tricky now he's 8 months and wants to move around and roll over, so watching with interest.

We have this swivel chair from Smyth's. Only £15 and does the job nicely. It has suction cups to stop it moving in the bath.

We have anti-slip stick-on things in the bath. I have one hand on her at all times.

We've had the occasional slip, as she sometimes tries to climb the side, but she's never hit her head or anything.

Apologies if somebody has already suggested this, but I'd go with a Shnugle baby bath, they sell them on Amazon and they are amazing!
When my baby outgrew that we went for a collapsible plastic bathtub, but if we had a bath ourselves (we have a shower) I would have put her on the big bath with a non slip mat.

We used the angelcare sit up seat and it was fab. Only thing is you have to fill the tub with lots of water as they can't reach anything.

I use the swivel seat linked above. Ds is 7 months and has been sitting confidently since around 5 1/2 months but often launches himself toward whatever takes his fancy so it's more to stop him falling.

It's been great, he feels a bit more independent and I know he's not going to go face first into the water/wall/tap. Plus he can play with dd and I have 2 hands for you retrieval and washing!
