MAM Self Sterilising Bottles

Hello,

We are currently combination feeding our 10 day old DS. Until now we've been using the Cow & Gate First Milk Ready to Feed 70ml bottles which are sterilised with teats included. However, this is working out quite expensive so we've bought a couple of MAM self sterilising bottles to make up formula/expressed milk.

Has anyone used these and can they advise what to do once the bottles have been sterilised? Do you have to add the milk straight away or can the bottles be put together, left a couple of hours and then filled with milk/formula? DH and I have read the instructions and looked online but there's not much info on what to do other than how to actually sterilise them.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes you can leave the bottles before you fill them up.

You put them back together and they should be good for up to 24 hours.

We used these bottles and loved them! I don't what's officially right but we had maybe 6 bottles and washed them all at once towards the end of the day, sterilised them and put them together, and then worked through them for the next 24 hours.

I think as long as you put them together quite quickly they'll be fine for a day before using them.

I think if you put them back together after sterilising they should stay good for 24 hours

It is probably ok to put them together to use later, however I would suggest buying a proper microwave or electric steam steriliser. That way you have a kind of sterile container to leave them in. I believe you can leave them in a steriliser for up to 24 hours. We use the same bottles and that's what we do.

Id advise buying a steriliser to be on the safe side. I like the avent steam one.
