Hi,

Looking for some advice!

I have a 4 month old baby and we're looking at buying his first high chair so he can sit with us at meal times in preparation for him starting to wean in a few months.

Does anyone have any recommendations of high chairs?

Thank you in advance!

IKEA all the way. Cheap, easy to clean, portable (when disassembled). What more do you need from a highchair?

Ikea all the way !! I had an expensive one the first time , it was such a germ fest. I use to hose the Ikea one down and anti bac it .. way way better and smaller ! And cheaper 😂

Similar to the Ikea one, we got ours in Asda, easy to clean etc

The legs on the Ikea one spread out massively so it takes up a huge floor space and doesn’t tuck away

Something to be aware of if you don’t have a designated area for it

It wouldn’t be my choice because of that

We had IKEA and Baby Bjorn highchairs. Both very easy to wipe clean, however the Bjorn was my favourite. It easily folds up when not in use, no straps to trap grot, and the tray fits very snugly so no lap full of food. The only downside is it is not suitable for larger babies who will outgrown it quickly. For skinny DD1 and average DD2 it was perfect.
The IKEA was a good cheap and cheerful chair to keep at GPs house, but the large gap between DD's tummy and the tray was a PITA.

In terms of the longevity of the Trip Trap as a justification of the price, IKEA sell a great kid's chair for sitting up to the table for £35 which have the added bonus of being stackable. We were given 2 as hand me downs, and my 4 and 6yo absolutely love them.
