Depends on the person I suppose. I don't like bickering - always thought bickering and arguing were overrated. Some people seem to love living life on an emotional rollercoster. No thanks.

I saw your thread on Saturday. A friend of mine was in town and said that something was afoot - lots of police activity and stuff. I was able to tell her that a young child had gone missing but that all was well and that the child had been safely reunited with his parents. She keeps asking me how I knew the "inside story".

Blu · 24/09/2007 13:50

I did aspire to providing a chaotic active family for my children, but rather failed to notice in advance how in such families the mother turns into a frazzled heap and while other "chaotic active" families have charmingly casual homes, ours is just one big pile of laundry.

NorthernRockCod · 24/09/2007 14:00

ye si think the media image of a mum() rememeb that shirt open over t shirt look ) is different to the erality

I am thinking of repainting my hall and stairs a sludgy sort of colour

ahundredtimes · 24/09/2007 14:20

Oh good, yes. I do too. I also want us in a station wagon and me in checked shirt and sexy jeans looking sexy and flustered and all my children being grown-up and bringing home lovers for Thanksgiving and them bickering in a clever, fun way whilst playing charades with Alan Alder.

Can I have that?

oh no to ds3, I missed that.

Fennel · 24/09/2007 14:23

There's such a fine line between the Sexy and Flustered look, and the Out of Control Screaming look, isn't there?

ahundredtimes · 24/09/2007 14:24

Yes, but if I'm in a station wagon I think I might be able to pull it off. I hope.

If you grow up in a really chaotic family, I think you spend your adulthood looking for peace and order. They can be very suffocating.

MrsBadger · 24/09/2007 14:28

ditto 100x, ditto
only I will wear a 'sweater set' as I look shocking in check shirts

TheDullWitch · 24/09/2007 14:34

Borthers and sisters is such shite, non? And I say that as someone who watches it every week. All those endless phoney family dinners. And whingey women singers in background during significant moments.

Only good things are ROb Lowe (swoooon, I like him all grown up, never dug him as young man) and Sally Field's fab fab kitchen. I want a larder like that.

I would not want to grow up in family like that, everyone ringing each other up with their business, really claustrophic. No wonder Calista moved to LA.

NorthernRockCod · 24/09/2007 15:08

rob lowe is uttlery divine dully

roi " rtesort casual" as they called it on dhs trip to bermuda - you mussed that gem 1o0times

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 24/09/2007 17:47

Oh no, I caught the end of that trip didn't I? I missed the wardrobe bit, but I do remember being oddly fixated on the whiteness and eveness of your teeth.

Okay, sweater set, resort casual, and charming, stressed - yet oddly still enchanting - checked shirt in a station wagon.

Now what happens?

lol. I have never seen this programme. I might have to by the sounds of it.

Tinker · 24/09/2007 17:52

lol @ fennel
