Help -Son weeing a lot!

My son has been diagnosed with Balanitis. He has been given 2 creams and we have been using them for about 6 weeks. It’s made no difference and so we have been referred to urology.

He is weeing very very frequently. It’s affecting everything he does and making life hard work. He always tired because it takes him ages to fall asleep. Going anywhere is hardwork because we stop for the toilet every 10 mins. Making even a walk hard work.

Anyone had similar and can offer any advice?

No idea sorry op but giving a bump to your thread. Maybe a quick call to the gp or even speak to the pharmacist they may be able to advise. What age is he? Is he old enough to express that he is needing to go?

It sounds like there is more than balanitis, he needs to go back to the GP to find out why he’s seeing so frequently.

Hi, is he drinking more too ?
My DD started going the loo more often and drinking a lot of water. Our GP carried out a finger prick test and she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

It may not be related but worth asking about.

Echo above poster. Could he be diabetic?

Hi sorry I should have said that we have been to the GP a number or times already and it was him that prescribed the creams and referred to urology because of lack of progress with the cream.

It’s seems as though his for skin might be partially attached which I think isn’t unusual for his age but might cause issues with cleaning and clearing the infection:

I hadn’t thought about diabetes. He hasn’t been drinking more but I look at some of the other symptoms and see if that fits. Wonder if the GP would check that.

Yes it is straightforward to prick his finger and measure his blood glucose level.

Glucose can also show up abnormally in urine along with ketones
