Transition to cot

Hi everyone,

So DS is at the age and starting to roll now, where we think best to put him in his cot in our room. FTM so apologies if it seems stupid but what bedding would he need?

I know I'm taking off the bumpers and nappy caddy he's got tied on there at the minute for decoration, for obvious reasons, but don't have a clue for bedding (not pillows or a duvet I know) as it needs to be something that fits the size of the cot width wise?
He's got a fitted sheet on there and also what I'd describe as a 'coverlet' that come with bedding sets, would that be safe for him to go under? It's lightly fleeced on the inside and cotton on the outside. He's also got some big cellular blankets which might work?

Hello

Have you thought about sleeping bags? My son uses them and it saves using blankets. He took a while to get used to them as loved being swaddled in blankets but as he will be moving in to his own room in the next 8 weeks I wouldnt feel safe him using a blanket without me being beside him.

Hope this helps. X

Used sleeping bags with mine. Flat fitted sheet then baby was zipped into a Sleeping Bag. I think we used these til about 2yo.

I use sleeping bags too, my 9 month old has used them since he was a few months as would kick blankets off moving about too much. But its so hot at the moment hes just in a sleepsuit now as even the nights feels hot in our house.

We just had a sheet and a sleeping bag until he was at least 18 months

We've always just used a sleeping bag. Different togs depending on the temperature. My DS wriggles and moves about the bed too much for loose covers.

Mattress protector, sheet and a sleeping bag for your baby. Easy

Thank you everyone. He has got a sleeping bag in the wardrobe that we've never used yet so might be a good idea since they come so recommended
