Yoghurt before 6 months

Not looking for a grilling but the guidelines are confusing!!

My baby is showing all the signs of being ready for solids - she is 5.5 months. Lots of different sites say different things about weaning.

Some sites say between 4-6 months, some say around 6 months and some say from 6 months. I watch some youtubers whose paediatrician said they should be eating 3 meals a day by 6 months!

On tuesday, I gave her a tiny spoonful of greek yoghurt and she loved it. I know reactions with cows milk can occur the second time so I tried it again with her tonight and again she loved it. No reactions.

Is there any harm in doing this if I'm only giving it to her in small amounts before she turns 6 months?

6 months is the ideal.
I've have four dc and three of them were weaned at 5.5 months the last one wasn't interested at all so left him til 6 months.I took it slow and just gave fruit and veg til they were six months. I was just guided by them really I didn't think that 2 and a half weeks would make that much difference.
I'm sure plenty of people will say wait but it's your call personally I would crack on if you feel she's ready.

Although the advice is six months, these are guidelines and they recognise that babies will become ready at their own pace around this time. At five and a half months, I really wouldn't worry about it. There will be no significant risk increase at this age.

The advice is "around 6 months" so you're around that. You've started so you might as well carry on!

So other than digestion or potential allergies, is there any other reason they say 6 months for cows milk products? I don't want to make her unwell 🙁

I really wouldn't worry about this - it's fine!
