All very complicated, would appreciate any advice, thanks

I can't speak for the OU procedures but most unis will let you transfer credits obtained at one uni to another one - you'd need to ring them to find out how. TVU can either send a transcript or you could send copies of your marked work to date for them to assess. Is it not possible to defer at TVU and finish your degree there if you only have 1 year to go - transferring degrees is a bit of a fag (having done it!!)

nah, i moved away, now live in bristol. tried applying to local uni's, but had to go thru UCAS, then interview, then see my previouswork, then write them an essay. Just seemed like way too much hassle, esp with a newborn

Really? When I decided to move unis, I simply rang the ones I fancied going to and I didn't even think about UCAS although I did have to fill in the uni's own application form plus send them my work. I did have to go in to speak to a tutor since they had to work out where to place me in classes since the work I've covered wasn't in the same order as their degree course. This was 7 years ago mind - perhaps procedures have changed since then.
