Wet beds - shall I give up for a while??

My twin DDs (3.7) suddenly became dry overnight on holiday in Spain in the middle of Sept - a couple of accidents but generally dry. Since coming home they have had limited success - one of them went three nights in a row last week without an accident then has weed every night since.

Last night I was woken at 1.00am by a wet bed then the other woke at 4.00am with the same. I'm fed up with the disrupted nights and am very tempted to put them back in pull-ups for a while.
I can't stand all the washing!! I've tried limiting drinks in the evening. Any advice?

Dd, also having been dry for some time went back to bedwetting around that age. She's now 4.25. We have her in dry-nights which we remove (because of them being hot and uncomfortable and she has a tendency to get thrush a bit) when we lift her as we're going to bed. She tends to wet before midnight, when she's in really heavy sleep. We've tried all the usual tricks and the only thing that works is lifting her in the night.. She's then usually dry in the mornings and doesn't then feel upset with herself.

SB I agree with Aero. Lifting doesn't have a 100% success rate for my two, but it's certainly a better success rate than not lifting!

Some older children who normally wet the bed can stop temporarily when they are sleeping in a strange place, so it's possible that your DDs aren't quite ready yet and that they've now gone back into their previous pattern.

They are still quite young to be dry at night. I think if it was me I would put them back in pullups for a while - as long as they are OK with it. After all waking up wet and cold in the middle of the night is quite unpleasant for them too (even though they don't then have the laundry to deal with!)

what ended up working for my ds1 was taking his pj bottoms off at nighttime - i think the feel of the elastic felt like a nappy when he was in a deep sleep. also i focused on being dry, by asking him to check his bed and lots of praise.
hope it helps x

by lifting you mean getting them up to go to the loo?

If so that doesn't work at all with my DS1 (3y 4m) - we just get a very grumpy child.

He has been without nappies at night for about 3 months - with varying success - sometimes goes for nights in a row without wetting, others it is every night for a few days. I have no idea what the answer is apart from time.

I have 1.75 year old twins - I can imagine how much hassle it can be with 2 - so you have my sympathy
